Andy Rowell is a freelance writer and investigative journalist who has been working for over a dozen years on political, environmental, and health issues. His work has appeared in front-page stories and others published in The Guardian, The Independent, Village Voice, and The Ecologist. Rowell has also undertaken cutting-edge investigations working with Action on Smoking and Health, Earth Resources Research, Friends of the Earth, IFAW, Greenpeace, the Pan American Health Organization, Project Underground, Transport and Environmental Studies Group, the World Health Organization, World in Action, and the World Wildlife Fund. His book Green Backlash: Global Subversion of the Environment Movement, was published by Routledge in 1996. He is the coauthor, with James Marriott and Lorne Stockman, of The Next Gulf: London, Washington and Oil Conflict in Nigeria.
